1. Read the Care Label

Before washing, always check the care label on your jumper. The label provides specific instructions regarding water temperature, hand washing, and any other special considerations.

2. Prepare the Washing Solution

Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water. Add a mild detergent specifically designed for wool or delicate fabrics. Avoid using regular detergent as it can be too harsh for natural fibers.

3. Soak the Jumper

Submerge the jumper in the soapy water. Gently swirl it around to ensure the detergent disperses through the fabric. Let it soak for about 10-15 minutes. Do not rub or scrub as this can cause the fibers to felt or stretch.

4. Rinse Thoroughly

Drain the soapy water and refill the basin with clean, lukewarm water. Gently rinse the jumper by pressing the water through the fabric. Repeat this process until all detergent is removed. Avoid wringing or twisting the jumper.

5. Remove Excess Water

Lay the jumper flat on a clean, dry towel. Roll up the towel with the jumper inside and gently press to remove excess water. You can repeat this step with a second dry towel if necessary. Do not wring or twist the fabric.

6. Dry Properly

Lay the jumper flat on a fresh, dry towel on a flat surface. Reshape the jumper to its original form. Allow it to air dry away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid hanging the jumper as this can stretch the fibres.
